Privacy policy

NarratorForge is designed to keep your books, recordings and finished audiobooks on your own machine. This page explains what this website and the local application actually do.

Website privacy

This site does not use marketing cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking pixels. It stores your light or dark theme preference in your browser. Cloudflare, as the site host, may process connection IP addresses and request metadata to deliver the site and protect it.

The hardware checker and voice filters run in your browser and do not send your choices to NarratorForge. Your browser may keep ordinary history or cache.

The local application

NarratorForge is a Windows desktop app. Your EPUBs, reference recordings, voice choices and finished audiobooks stay on your computer; the seller does not receive your book content.

The app may download public voice models from Hugging Face.

The app checks for updates at startup. The request contains no purchase key, device identifier, book or voice data, but the feed host may log your IP address. Set NF_UPDATE_DISABLE=1 in the app's environment to turn off these checks.

Purchases and downloads

Stripe Checkout processes payment, billing details and the email address you submit, under Stripe's privacy policy. After a paid checkout, NarratorForge stores the buyer email and Stripe Checkout Session ID in a private Cloudflare D1 database to maintain the purchase entitlement. The seller does not receive full card numbers.

For first-run runtime access, Resend sends a one-time authorization link to the purchase email. D1 stores hashes of the device code and magic-link token, plus expiry/authorization timestamps; links expire after 15 minutes and device authorizations after seven days. Cloudflare processes requests and streams the private WSL runtime from R2. Installer downloads continue to use the Stripe Session ID. The app downloads the runtime and speech-model weights to your PC; book content, reference recordings and generated audio are not sent to the seller.

Your choices and contact

You can clear your browser's saved theme preference in the browser. For purchase-data questions or a deletion request, contact sales@narratorforge.com; deleting the purchase record also removes the ability to authorize fresh runtime downloads.
