Terms and licence

These terms describe the NarratorForge 1.0.0 licence and the responsibilities that come with making narrated audio.

Licence grant and price

NarratorForge is commercial software, sold as a single licence for $29.99, paid once. The licence is perpetual: it never expires, there is no subscription and no renewal fee, and updates to the software come with the licence you already hold. There is no per-book, per-character or per-voice charge.

Except for components covered by a separate licence, one licence is for the purchaser's use on their own computers. It permits commercial use of audiobooks you create, subject to the rights in the source material, voices, models and components.

Backend source and third-party licences

Backend source in new releases is proprietary. The $29.99 licence permits use of the packaged application but grants no separate right to reuse, modify or redistribute that source.

This change is prospective only: anyone who obtained a copy under the MIT License keeps the rights granted by that licence, including use, modification, distribution and sale subject to its notice requirements.

Third-party code, models, weights and other components keep their own licences and notices; this page does not change those rights.

The $29.99 offer covers the packaged product, perpetual use under applicable licences, future updates and email support.

Your books, text and voices

You are responsible for the text, EPUBs, recordings and other material that you provide. Before narrating a book, you need the rights to use its text. Before cloning a voice, you need the rights or permission required for that recording and voice. Do not use the application to impersonate or exploit a person, and do not redistribute a cloned voice of a real person. You are responsible for checking the permissions and restrictions that apply to your project and for the audiobook you make.

Use NarratorForge lawfully and do not use it to produce material you are not allowed to make or share. The application gives you local tools; it does not grant rights in a book, recording, likeness or model.

Download access and activation

Stripe verifies payment before the website serves the MSI, setup executable and portable package. Their download URLs are bearer credentials; keep them private. First-run setup separately sends a one-time link to the purchase email to authorize this PC to download the protected WSL runtime. That device authorization expires after seven days and can be requested again from the app.

This download authorization is not a licence activation server or DRM. The app does not phone home to validate a licence copy, and downloaded runtime/model files can be copied or used locally; the licence terms and third-party licences still apply.

Refunds

You may request a refund within 14 days, with no questions asked, if NarratorForge does not run on your hardware. Contact sales@narratorforge.com with your Stripe receipt so the seller can handle the request through Stripe.

As-is warranty and limitation of liability

NarratorForge is provided as is, without a warranty that it will meet every use case, produce a particular voice or remain compatible with every future system. Hardware, drivers, model downloads and upstream components affect operation. You accept responsibility for deciding whether the application suits your machine and project.

To the extent permitted by law, James Zampa and NarratorForge are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of the application, its models or the audio you create. Nothing here limits a liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
